ESPOL encourages its professors to obtain the international iPER certification

With the aim of presenting the ETALENT project (Ecuadorian Tertiary Educators Transformation And Learning EnhaNcemenT) and the iPER certification (International Professional Educator Registered), ESPOL held an informational session on these topics on Wednesday, April 15. The event was addressed to 258 professors from the faculties of Social Sciences and Humanities, Life Sciences, and Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication.

ETALENT is a project supported by Erasmus+, from the European Union, and seeks, among other goals, to strengthen the role of professors in innovation and institutional transformation processes.

iPER is the only professional registry recognized worldwide by the United Nations and the International Labour Organization through its International Standard Classification of Occupations.

This certification establishes international standards for university-level educators — ensuring pedagogical excellence — and promotes continuous improvement through an evidence-based evaluation process and review by international peers.

During the informational session, Margarita Ortiz, Director of ESPOL’s Center for Educational Research and Services, explained that the benefits available to those who obtain the iPER certification include professional growth, international recognition, and a certification verifiable through blockchain technology.

iPER is a certification granted by ENTER, an international organization founded in 2021 with the aim of improving the professional competencies of university-level educators through a globally recognized registration and certification process.
