Empowering Educators, Building the Future

The Ecuadorian tertiary educators Transformation And Learning EnhaNcemenT (E TALENT) project focuses on transforming educators from the fields of education, social sciences, management, business and law into teachers in the services sector within Ecuador’s higher education system according to the national needs. It aims to enhance teaching methodologies and skills development, particularly in digital technologies, while ensuring equitable access and inclusion.
The project will establish and upgrade centers at partner HEIs to develop and update professional development programs (PDPs), aligning them with international standards. These PDPs are tailored specifically for educators transitioning to the services sector, with guidelines for preparing for international certification and accreditation.

E TALENT: Main Pillars

Reskilling & Transition to the Services Sector

Targeted reskilling for educators from Education, Social Sciences, Management, Business and Law to transition into services-sector teaching that directly addresses Ecuador’s national needs.

Digital & Inclusive Pedagogy Excellence

Modernise teaching with evidence-based methodologies, strong digital capabilities, and universal design for learning—ensuring equitable access, inclusion and improved learning outcomes across diverse target groups.

Capacity Building & Professional Recognition

Establish and upgrade Capacity Development Centres throughout Ecuador introducing internationally-aligned Professional Development Programs for educators, reforming educators’ assessment system, providing access to international recognition in profession.

Governance, Integrity & National Frameworks

Conduct a comprehensive diagnostic of transparency issues; develop indicators and evaluation tools to strengthen good governance, integrity and transparency; and implement a nationally aligned system to evaluate teaching practice and pedagogical competence—serving as a regional model.

We are achieving our mission through several interconnected strategies:

Driving national-level reforms for the transformation, upskilling, evaluation, and recognition of educators – to create a lasting, systemic impact on higher education standards.

Establishing modern centers within universities offering a wide spectrum of digital tools and professional development services – to provide a permanent, accessible hub for academic staff growth.

While starting with partner universities, the project’s framework and resources are designed for adoption by HEIs across Ecuador – to ensure inclusive, country-wide improvement in education quality.

Special activities target educators from remote zones to bridge resource and opportunity gaps – to promote equal access to professional advancement for all educators.

E TALENT goes beyond training. We are building a connected community of educators by:

• Enhancing Intra-Regional Connectivity: Linking universities and academics across the country to share knowledge and best practices.
• Providing Career Tools: Developing programs and resources for qualification, career development, and international recognition.
• Fostering Collaboration: Creating a network where partner institutions complement each other’s strengths for a stronger national system.
